Exciting news from the world of OpenAI – they’ve recently released GPT-4, the latest Large Language Model that has taken the AI world by storm. GPT-4 is a powerful technology that uses a transformer architecture to imitate human-like natural language understanding, and it has shown tremendous performance in solving complex tasks such as image description generation, website creation, and more.

The secret behind GPT-4’s advanced capabilities lies in the use of a more advanced Large Language Model. To explore this hypothesis further, a team of Ph.D. students from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia, have developed MiniGPT-4, an open-source model that can perform complex vision-language tasks just like GPT-4.

MiniGPT-4 uses an advanced LLM called Vicuna as the language decoder, built upon LLaMA, and has shown great results when asked to identify problems from picture input. It provided a solution based on provided image input of a diseased plant by a user with a prompt asking about what was wrong with the plant. MiniGPT-4 has even discovered unusual content in an image, generated product advertisements, detailed recipes by observing delicious food photos, rap songs inspired by images, and retrieved facts about people, movies, or art directly from images.

The best part is that MiniGPT-4 is highly efficient and requires training for just 10 hours on 4 A100 GPUs. However, to overcome the limitation of generating fragmented sentences or repeated phrases, MiniGPT-4 needs to be trained using a high-quality, well-aligned dataset.

You can even access the code, pre-trained model, and collected dataset to explore MiniGPT-4’s capabilities and see what it can do!

This powerful tool is now available on the MiniGPT-4 GitHub page – https://github.com/Vision-CAIR/MiniGPT-4

We’re thrilled to be at the forefront of this exciting new technology. We believe that MiniGPT-4 has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with visual content and open up a whole new world of possibilities for AI. So why not give it a try and see what you can discover? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
